Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE)
Hodac's Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners are forensic nurses (FNE) who have advanced education and clinical preparation in forensic examination of adolescent and adult sexual assault victims. They are an essential part of the Sexual Assault Response Team. FNE's work to assure that victims receive prompt and compassionate care and in doing so help preserve the victim's dignity and reduce psychological trauma while enhancing evidence collection. The FNE may be called on to provide expert court testimony. FNEs are available to give lectures and workshops on forensic nursing, and sexual and physical abuse issues for law enforcement agencies, healthcare providers, schools, civic groups, and other organizations that provide outreach programs or community health education.
